Investor Seeks Justice Over Alleged Fraud by YY Capital Chairman

(Phnom Penh) – An investor in YY Capital Partners Co., Ltd. has appealed to Cambodia’s Ministry of Justice, calling for action against the company’s Chairman, Yamada Taihei, who is accused of serious financial misconduct.

The investor claims Yamada, a Japanese national, abused his position to manipulate real estate transactions, inflating prices and misappropriating around USD 4 million for himself and associates. He is also alleged to have created fake business deals, forged documents, and arranged loans exceeding USD 7 million under the names of major Japanese companies, deceiving other shareholders.

Reports indicate that Yamada controlled multiple shell companies across Cambodia, Japan, Malaysia, and Singapore, appointing nominees as figurehead representatives while handling all financial transactions himself. Some misappropriated funds were reportedly transferred abroad to an account in the name of his wife, Ye Jun.

In Cambodia, authorities have filed at least two criminal cases against Yamada and his collaborators, freezing assets and bank accounts. Investigations are also underway in several other countries, including China, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and the United States, over suspected embezzlement, money laundering, and fraud.

Through his letters, the investor urges authorities to conduct thorough investigations, uphold justice, and ensure accountability, while raising concerns about possible interference from influential figures that could obstruct the legal process, intimidate witnesses, or compromise evidence.
